Planet of the really horrible movie

So, we just returned from a 7 day vacation to Yellowstone that was it’s own kind of bad which ended with an 18 hour drive through 4 states to get home…but we’ll get to that in a minute.  First, and more bad (don’t judge me), is a quick review of a movie that Mike & I just treated ourselves to:  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.  Yes, folks, this movie is so bad that it trumps an epically bad family vacation.  That in itself is almost enough of a review.

This movie was one cliché after another….same story always told, just this time it was told with apes.  Seriously, it was horribly flat and just plain painful.  I’m not even going to waste my time on the plot or anything else because it would just be…well, a waste.

The most interesting part about this movie isn’t even the movie…it’s the reviews of the movie.  I went on Twitter to express my oh-so-quiet opinion about the 2 hours I just spend in the theater that I can never have back and I was amazed to see all the glowing reviews of this piece of horrid screen time.  Really….so many people thought it was a great movie.  One guy repeatedly suggested that the leaders of Israel & Hammas should watch this movie to reach a cease fire.  Yes…nothing says peace like an ape on a horse with a machine gun in each hand.  It just boggled my mind.

This is the only thing I can say in response to all those people who thought this was a great movie:

  1. Thanks for the heads up about the movie Amy! That would have chapped my hide to spend good money on it. Sounds like it isn’t even a renter. Enjoyed the pic and the ordinary reference too, it fits. Glad the Patrick family is back. I know Kate has been missed.

  2. Love the reference to Sherlock! And thanks for the candid opinion about the movie. It wasn’t necessarily one that one my list to see, but I’m glad that you reinforced my decision not to have it on my list at all. 🙂
